Day 1: TRC Travel welcomes you!
In Costa Rica a representative of TRC Travel will be waiting for you at the airport to welcome you and to transport you to your hotel in San José. If you have free time explore San José on foot. Lodging in Hotel Villa Tournon (D)
Day 2: Route to Tortuguero
On your trip to Tortuguero you will pass through the immense forest of Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo. You will enjoy a tropical breakfast in route and later board a comfortable boat that will take along the exotic and enchanting fresh water channels to the town of Tortuguero. Drink a refreshing tropical juice upon arrival to Pachira Lodge, followed by a delicious lunch. Later travel a few minutes by boat and visit the Museum of Marine Turtles, the beach and the town of Tortuguero. Enjoy a marvelous tropical buffet for dinner. Lodging in Pachira Lodge (D/A/C)

Day 3: Explore Tortuguero
Optional morning tour: Boat trip through the channels ($27.00). If the climate allows you can take beautiful pictures of the Caribbean sunset. On return to the lodge discover the delicious taste of a tropical breakfast. Take a hike to Cerro Tortuguero, the highest part of the region or travel the channels to admire the flora and fauna that protect the Parque Nacional Tortuguero. In the afternoon enjoy free time to do the activity that you prefer. If it is turtle season (July to September) you can take an observation tour. Lodging in Pachira Lodge (D/A/C)
Day 4: Continue the adventure to the Caribbean
After breakfast the boat will be waiting to return you to the main road. The Restaurante Caribbean Dish will be the established point to deliver a rented 4×4 car. The adventure will continue south to the Caribbean where in the afternoon you will visit Parque Nacional Cahuita (entrance is not included) Enjoy the ocean and the white sand that surrounds the park. Later you will drive to Posada Rural Casa Calateas, 4 kilometers to the interior to the community of Carbón Dos. In this community you will enjoy a Caribbean meal and learn about the conservation efforts that the association in charge of the inn handles. Lodging in Casa Calateas (D/Take out lunch)

Day 5: Free
Free day to explore the area and enjoy the sun and sand. Lodging in Posada Rural Casa Calateas (D)

Day 6: Experience the Bribri paradise
Wake up to the sounds of nature and begin your journey to the Bribri Indian territory. Be prepared to climb into a canoe that will take you up the River Yorkin. On arrival you will walk to the village where you will see organic plantations of banana and cocoa until you reach Posada Rural.
On arriving enjoy a refreshment and learn about the Indian association owners that run the inn. Hike a nearby trail where you will see medicinal plants and the cultivation of trees that are vital to the community. You will be served a Bribri style lunch and for dessert learn how to produce chocolate. Test your luck in weaving palm leaves used in roofing their homes. The rest of the afternoon is free, relax, swim in the river or sleep in a hammock. In the evening you will hear about the Bribri myths told around an open fire. Day 7: To the north
Today we will travel to the northern part of Costa Rica – Sarapiquí, where you will see changes in the landscape and little by little the rain forest. In Posada Rural El Socorro you will meet a Costa Rican family that is charge of this small inn. They offer hikes through the forest and waterfalls. If you want you can participate in the daily chores of the dairy farm. Lodging in Posada Rural El Socorro. (D)
Day 8: Visit the famous Vocano Arenal
Be prepared to visit an active volcano, Arenal. When you reach the waterfall Ecoldge rest a little and then relax in the thermal waters of the property Eco-termales. Lodging in Catarata Ecolodge. (D/C)
Day 9: Discover Arenal
Optional activities: Visit Parque Nacional Volcán Arenal ($10.00) / Hike the hanging bridges of el Arenal ($75.00). For those of you that enjoy challenging hikes, Cerro Chato is an option, an extinct volcano south of Arenal ($100.00) (these are prices per person). In the afternoon return to San José, where you will stay in a hotel in the city center and return the car rental. Lodging in Hotel Villa Tournon (D)

Breakfast and transfer to Aeropuerto Juan Santamaría to take return trip home. (D)
